Suggested Activities: Sing both versions to children initially without
the words. When the melodies are well known sing the words.Sing
the last phrase as an ostinato pattern throughout
the song. Ask the children what you sang. How is the sound different between
the two versions? Divide half the class to sing melody, half to sing ostinato. Try the two different versions. Sit babies on mums lap on a chair or on top
of knees with knees bent, hold babies legs up, slide bottom down. Make a
lovely Weeee sound! |

Suggested Activities: Blow
bubbles or allow children to blow bubbles as you sing and then as they sing.
Break up the song so that each child sings one phrase as you pass the blowing
ring and mixture. Each child sings a phrase and blows some bubbles. Or a
whole group can each have their own bubble mix in little bottles and all blow
together. This is excellent for audiation processes
to be developed- as we blow and retain the sound in our heads during the
pauses create anticipation of sounds to come. Audiation
processes help to develop in-tune singing. Breath awareness activity |

Suggested Activities: Sing
leaping on the croaks or hold a beanbag frog and toss and catch it on the
croaks- try to clap between tossing and catching your beanbag! Sing in unison.
Sing in a round Use
a guiro to produce the croak sounds. This works well where you sit one child
on your knee and sing into the child's ear- up high, fabulous for focused
listening- and you help the child scrape the frog guiro on the rests. Find
another instrument or use the voice to make 'a fly buzzing' sound. Make a
lovely big slurping sound at end for breath awareness. |
